Accommodations
Campers will have double occupancy rooms reserved at the Summer Visitor
Housing
(Stern Hall) for the evenings of July 28 through August 9 (departing
August 10). Check-in is from 12 NN to 11 PM on Sunday, July 28.
Check-out is before 12 NN on August 10. If you would like to stay longer (before or after),
we can make a reservation for you at the same location, but you must pay for
the additional nights. The cost will be $34 per person for double
occupancy, and $53 for single occupancy. We can only do this if you send
us a check (made out to "U.C. Regents") arriving at least one month in
advance. If you would like to stay longer and pay double occupancy rates
but don't have a roomate in mind, please let us know by around the first
of June, so we can try to arrange it.
Instructors should make their own reservations at the
Durant Hotel (510)845-8981. Single
rooms are blocked out at $120 per night plus 12% hotel tax. These rooms will be
released on June 27, 2002 so please book your reservation before the cut off date.
Computer Facilities
Room
616 Evans Hall (west corridor) is the
Econometrics Laboratory's
public workstation room. Access is controlled by a combination lock;
the combination will be available from the camp counselors. Participants
who wish to check e-mail can obtain account and password information
from the camp counselors. 3-4 computers are also available at Stern Hall for checking e-mail.
Recreational Facilities
There is a jogging track, tennis courts and a swimming pool available at the
Golden Bear Recreation Center.
The
Strawberry Canyon Recreational Area, the
Recreational Sports Facility (RSF),
and the
Hearst Gymnasium are also available to campers. Strawberry
Canyon has two swimming pools and barbecue areas. The other facilities have
swimming pools, weight rooms, handball, squash, racquetball and tennis courts.
Facility hours will be posted in Stern Hall.
These facilities are available on a fee per entry basis. The entry fee for the
swimming pool at the Golden Bear Recreation Center is $5.00 per person per day.
The current daily entry fees for the other facilities are $5.00 per person at
Strawberry Canyon and $10.00 per person at the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF).
