Cecile Gaubert

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and the Haas School of Business (Real Estate) at UC Berkeley. I am a Research Associate at the NBER and a Research Fellow at CEPR.

My research lies at the intersection of International Trade and Economic Geography. I study how the spatial distribution of economic activity shapes a country's productivity and welfare, the causes and consequences of spatial inequality, and the rationale for place-based policies.
